Fluoride-free is a formulation preference, not proof of cavity prevention or superior safety. State the preference accurately and keep routine oral hygiene in view.
Define the proposed statement
Clarify whether the brief concerns no added fluoride or another specific label statement. Review all ingredient inputs and the evidence needed for the final wording. The absence of one ingredient does not describe the entire product.
Avoid adding an anticavity implication
A no-fluoride claim cannot be expanded into a statement that the pouch remineralizes enamel or prevents cavities. Those are separate outcomes requiring appropriate support. Do not use a familiar dental ingredient as a shortcut to a finished-product performance claim.
Keep the role of the pouch clear
The concept is an additional product-development direction. It is not presented as a replacement for brushing with fluoride toothpaste or for advice from a dental professional. Clear positioning helps a buyer understand the format without confusing it with established oral-hygiene care.
Put the decision into your project record
Use a short record that names the product or sample version, the decision required, the supporting information and the person responsible for approval. If a point is unresolved, record the next action before moving to the following approval. This makes the discussion more useful than a general request for the “best” formula or package.
For a production quotation, identify each SKU and its quantity. The current minimum is 3,000 cans per SKU and 9,000 cans per order. Sample evaluation is discussed separately and does not create a production order.
Questions to bring to the discussion
Does fluoride-free mean the pouch prevents cavities?
No. A no-fluoride formulation statement does not establish cavity prevention, remineralization or enamel protection.
Can a fluoride-free pouch also be sugar-free?
Both preferences can be requested, but each label statement needs its own ingredient and market review for the final composition.
